THE BEST AIRBNB MANAGEMENT COMPANIES IN EDINBURGH

Back in the ‘before times’ (Sept 2019 to be precise) TravelMag were good enough to nominate Five Star BnB as one of the top 3 Airbnb Management companies in Edinburgh.

Here’s what they had to say:

“Given the ubiquity of Airbnb properties around the world, it’s easy to forget that the business concept grew out of the trend for casual couch surfing that began in the 1990s. Now the short let sector rivals the hotel industry for profitability, with huge numbers of home owners opening up their property to guests they’ve never met before.

For Airbnb hosts – especially those with more than one property – dealing with the logistical challenges of managing the booking and check-in process, and the overall guest experience itself, can be a perpetual challenge. In response to this, there are now a huge number of Airbnb management companies that offer to take these burdens off your hands.

If you’re an Airbnb host in the Scottish capital of Edinburgh, or are thinking of becoming one, and are keen to alleviate your workload, we’ve looked into all the Airbnb management companies operating in the city and picked out three of the best.”

BOOK AT FIVESTARBNB.CO.UK

Born and bred in Edinburgh, Five Star BnB describes itself first and foremost as a hospitality company. It harnesses its knowledge of the local market to provide full management services every day, all year round, from listing, pricing and marketing to guest communication, housekeeping and maintenance, all using local suppliers. The company also offers 24/7 check-in, so guests never have to worry about what time they arrive, and every home also has its own dedicated property manager. Another USP is that Five Starr Bnb places a strong focus on green living and only uses eco-friendly cleaning products in its properties.

FIVE STAR BNB SHORTLISTED FOR BUSINESS AWARD

Five Star BnB is delighted to be shortlisted in the category of “Innovative Business of the Year” for the Causeway, Ireland Scotland Business Exchange Awards, 2019.  According to the nomination committee, Five Star BnB has “created a nimble and responsive business delivering excellence in customer care whilst minimising waste”. This lean ethos has transcended all aspects of the Company while at the same time providing boutique property management services to customers.

Five Star BnB began operations in June 2017, after recognising a need for service excellence in short-term lets in Edinburgh.  Built on the Lean Business Model they quickly expanded to deliver unequivocal service to visitors in Edinburgh and their hosts.  The Causeway Awards committee, acknowledged that in establishing hotel standards of care – to what is effectively a 150-bedroom hotel, distributed across a 25 square miles radius – some unique challenges were created for FiveStar BnB.  The Company was able to overcome these with proprietary systems designed to deliver service to the right place at the right time, first time, every time – filtering out and reducing waste, excess, and duplication at every stage.  This in turn allowed them to provide service to a wider geographic base than any other provider and support sustainable tourism, while facilitating stays in parts of the city that were less densely populated.

Recognition was also given to FiveStar BnB’s dedication to local providers in all aspects of the supply chain, their advocacy for locally owned stores and experiences as well as a focus on environmentally friendly products used throughout their properties. Standing true to the Company’s vision to ‘add value and enrich the communities in which we operate.”

About the awards: The Awards Night and Gala Black Tie is a celebration of relationships between the Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland will take place at Kelvingrove Art Gallery in Glasgow in September.

Big Fluffy Towels

My first experience of Airbnb was during a trip to Central America.  I had arrived in Costa Rica and after my first night in a hotel, I took the plunge and booked a room in an exotic looking home.  The listing described a beautiful standalone conversion adjacent to the owner’s main property, with a lovely yoga deck surrounded by trees, with tropical birds and monkeys for company.  The reality was somewhat different.  The ‘conversion’ was barely more than some floor tiles on what had previously been a garage; the broken, slatted window panes offering the chance to become closer acquainted with the local wildlife than I’d like and the canopy of trees keeping the whole place rather damp.  The reality was far from the promise of the brochure.  I left, checking into another hotel for the night…

Undaunted, I tried again, this time taking more time to read between the lines and to check the reviews.  And success!!  Time and time again, I found lovely rooms with great hosts and got to truly enjoy the warm hospitality of locals.

A month later, I’m relocating to Edinburgh, Scotland, beginning a new life after almost a decade abroad.  I knew I wanted to dip my toe into hosting with Airbnb and after settling in to the new neighborhood, listed my spare room.  It wasn’t long before I was meeting my first guests and I was soon hosting single, paired and family travellers from around the world, introducing them to this fantastic city.  I loved it!  Bringing my own experience of travel and adventure to provide hospitality to guests, I focused on doing the simple things right – spotless rooms, comfortable bedding and luxurious fluffy towels…  the five star reviews soon came in and I got steadily busier.

Doing the simple things really well makes all the difference.  Its hard work, especially after an already long day, but worth it when guests have had a great experience!  This is their vacation after all – the least I can do is to ensure they are comfortable and relaxed.  The rewards are happy guests, great reviews and more bookings.

So its with renewed excitement that I’m launching Five Star BnB, bringing three years experience of being a guest and host to provide great service to other hosts.  The ethos of Five Star BnB is simple; your guests can be certain of what their experience will be like; spotlessly clean interiors, hotel quality linens and big fluffy towels.  As a host, you get to reap the benefits of great reviews and quality reservations without any of the hard work.  If you’re already an Airbnb host, or you’re thinking of becoming one, we’d love to chat with you about how we can help.  Give us a call today on 0131 210 0101 and let us take the hassle out of managing your Airbnb.
